Performance of the Front-end Signal Processing for the Drift Chambers of the Stanford Large
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper reports on the performance of the frontend analog and digital signal processing electronics for the -drift chambers of the Stanford Large Detector (SLD) detector at the Stanford Linear Collider. The electronics mounted on printed circuit boards include up to 64 channels of transimpedance amplification, analog sampling, A/D conversion, and associated control circuitry. Measurements of the time resolution, gain, noise, linearity, --crosstalk, and stability of the readout electronics are described and presented. The expected contribution of the electronics to the relevant drift chamber measurement resolutions (i.e., timing and charge division) is given. _ .

The Front - End Analog and Digital Signal Processing Electronics for the Drift Chambers of the Stanford Large Detector
The front-end signal processing electronics for the drift-chambers of the Stanford Large Detector (SLD) at the Stanford Linear Collider is described. The system is implemented with printed-circuit boards which are shaped for direct mounting on the detector. Typically, a motherboard comprises 64 channels of transimpedance amplification and analog waveform sampling, A/D conversion, and associated...
متن کاملA New Vision-Based and GPS-Signal-Independent Approach in Jamming Detection and UAV Absolute Positioning Assessment
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) positioning in the outdoor environment is usually done by the Global Positioning System (GPS). Due to the low power of the GPS signal at the earth surface, its performance disrupted in the contaminated environments with the jamming attacks. The UAV positioning and its accuracy using GPS will be degraded in the jamming attacks. A positioning error about tens of...

Nowadays, the portable multimedia electronic devices, which employ signal-processing modules, require power aware structures more than ever. For the applications associating with human senses, approximate arithmetic circuits can be considered to improve performance and power efficiency. On the other hand, scaling has led to some limitations in performance of nanoscale circuits. According...
متن کاملPerformance of the Front-end Analogue Filter for MSGCs signals in CMS at Different Track Incidence Angles
The performance of the analogue signal processing filter implemented in the front-end readout chip for the CMS Micro Strip Gas Chambers is evaluated for tracks with incidence angle up to 45 degrees. The impact on efficiency, bunch crossing pile-up and signal to noise is quantified using Monte Carlo generated events simulating isolated hits in MSGC modules described according to the CMS baseline...
